From the mind of George A. Romero

Viewed Monkey Shines(1988) directed and screenplay written by George A Romero. starring Jason Beghe, and John Pankow.

When A track star is paralyzed his friend who does research on monkeys brings him a Capuchin monkey to help out around the house. Alan Mann(Beghe) falls in love with the monkey Ella. as their relationship grows a connection is growing with them. His friend Geoffrey(Pankow)has been injecting the monkey with a syrum of human brain tissue to make the monkey smarter. behaving like a human the connection between man and beast grows so close that Alan is able to see through the monkey and thoughts he has had begin to come true. the monkey goes out and kills people because he has thought about it. this is yet again one of Romeros great works. the helplessness of Alan just adds to the suspense and horror of this film. at times it is nerve racking and very scary.
